Mubadala Citi DC Open 2025
Washington, DC
Black Girls Tennis Club returned to Washington, D.C. for an unforgettable Mubadala Citi DC Open weekend, a powerful blend of play, culture, and community.
We kicked things off on Friday evening with our Adult Tennis Clinic at the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center. In partnership with DC Parks & Recreation, USTA, the Howard University Tennis Team, and brand supporters including Broccoli City and Furi Sport, the clinic brought together a dynamic group of players for an energizing evening rooted in movement, joy, and connection.
On Saturday morning, members of our Hampton Roads community — including youth participants, parents, and coaches — joined us at the tournament for Kids Day at the Mubadala Citi DC Open. The girls played interactive tennis games, explored the tournament grounds, watched matches, and even caught a glimpse of Clervie practicing, before cheering on Taylor Townsend to a big win.
We closed the weekend with our Welcome Party & Fundraiser at Eaton House, an evening of celebration, music, and community impact. The event featured sounds by DJ Eb & Flow, and in-kind support from an incredible roster of partners, including Savage X Fenty, ON, Pattern, GUESS, Furi Sport, Charlotte Cauwe, Oasis Outlaws, Athletic Brewing Co., Hard Rock Cafe, and DC Events. Guests danced, connected, and helped raise critical funds to support BGTC’s free youth programming.
This weekend was a reminder of why we do this work; to build safe, liberatory spaces where Black women and girls can thrive through tennis, storytelling, and community.
